The 9-hole golf course Schinznach Bad is the oldest course in the Mittelland. After the sulphurous spring in the health resort of Schinz-nach had been used as a thermal spa for more than 200 years, the golf club was founded next to the spa in 1929.
Old tree population, integrated in wonderful mixed forest, testify to a grown course. Schinznach Bad has three faces. Holes 1, 2 and 9 are in the lower part, where the driving range and the clubhouse with good infrastructure are also located. Here you play like through a forest. On both sides of the fairway, high and old trees are lined up and the holes 4, 5 and 6 in the upper, rather flat part of the course are separated by the cantonal road. Holes 3, 7 and 8 are located below this road and are hilly with many slopes. This terrain is more open, but is planted with many old birch and fir trees.
This variety of terrain as well as challenging holes with appealing length result in a varied and interesting golf course. Schinznach Bad is very well maintained. Good fairways, large and fast greens and many flowering plants near the clubhouse round off the appealing impression. After the round the clubhouse with its inviting terrace is certainly worth a visit.
